The Benefits of Natural Latex
Firstly, natural latex gives you the perfect level of support, while still being soft. Natural latex is slightly firmer than synthetic latex. However, it’s not so firm that it hinders neck and spine support.
Indeed, natural latex pillows adjust your body movements, and won’t flatten as much as synthetic pillows. What’s more, natural latex will always work for you, no matter what sleep position you prefer.
Also, natural latex is anti-microbial, anti-mildew, anti-dustmite and anti-bacterial. So that means, your bed will stay nice and clean. Natural latex pillows are great for individuals who suffer from allergies. Just think of it as a natural alternative those infamous “hypoallergenic” to foam pillows.
Synthetic and blended latex pillows can be quite “smelly”. This is because there are a lot of chemicals in them, and only a very small percentage of natural rubber. So if you’re sensitive to smells, better choose a natural latex pillows.
Since natural latex is a bit more dense, it holds shape and softness longer than other natural materials. Indeed, natural latex has elastic properties, which allow it to flex throughout the night. And this means, less disrupted sleep.
Natural Latex
What is natural latex, and is it really natural?
Natural latex comes from the sap of rubber trees. The most natural kind of latex you’ll find is 97% natural latex. This percentage is based on lab tests done on sample sizes. Our natural latex was indeed tested in Germany, and the lab results showed us that our natural latex was 97% natural.
Why not 100%?
We wish 100% natural latex existed. But it simply does not. 100% natural latex is liquid rubber, and connot be made into bedding without a small amount of additives. Our natural latex has less than 1% sulfur, and the rest is water and other untracable residues.
What are the other types of latex?
Synthetic. When buying latex bedding such as pillows, you’ll be faced with a wide variety of latex pillows. The cheaper the price tag, the most likely the percentage of natural latex will be low. Most synthetic latex is about 15 to 20% natural latex, and the rest is other chemicals added to it.
Blended. The other type of latex products you’ll find is blended latex. Some retailers write that their product is “natural” because it’s made from some natural latex. Blended latexes are made from 50% natural latex (maximum) and the rest is chemicals.
